GRADUATION, AT LAST!

POULSBO, WASHINGTON

This is the first picture to date on Light-Fixation where I appeared as the subject rather than the photographer. Figured this was earned after two long years of late nights filled with books and computers. Thank you to photographer Patrick Torres for capturing this and many other great images during the past year.

TECHNICAL DATA: Cannon EOS 30D; Handheld; 1/2500; F3.2; Auto Mode; ISO 200; 70mm; 2:26pm

Peak – Oil

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING

The oil prices in Wyoming are rising nearly as high as the mountains. Think I will stick to my bicycle.

TECHNICAL DATA: Pentax *istDS with 18-55mm lens; Handheld; Auto Focus; 1/90; F8; Landscape Mode; ISO 200; 55mm; Daylight; 4:45pm

CRAZY LIKE A FOX

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING

Mother fox is returning from the hunt with food in her mouth to feed five young ones at the den. The family has been living just off one of the busier roads in town for the last month – wildly being stalked by the nature paparazzi.

TECHNICAL DATA: Pentax *istDS with 50-200mm lens; Handheld; Auto Focus; 1/500; F9.5; Av Mode; ISO 200; 200mm; Daylight; 11:59pm

RED BREASTED ROBIN

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING

I went searching for a fox and ended up with this robin, a common summer resident. Of course if I wanted dandelions there would have been no reason to stray past the front yard.

TECHNICAL DATA: Pentax *istDS with 50-200mm lens; Handheld; Auto Focus; 1/250; F9.5; Av Mode; ISO 200; 200mm; AWB; 1:18pm

Readers have spoken and the “yeas” have it. Beginning June 2, 2008 Light-Fixation will return in a photo-of-the-week format. The best image from the week will be posted each Monday morning and sent to subscribers by email on the same day. Thanks for the support and please feel free to pass this link along to others.

The final month of graduate school has taken its toll on this site as updating Light-Fixation has become a low priority given limited time resources. At this point I remain undecided if this project will resume after school ends on June 22, 2008. If you would like to continue receiving daily photo updates, please send a quick email to scjansen@gmail.com and I will weigh the response when making a decision.

OVEN FRESH

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING

These muffins are, well… selling like hotcakes.

TECHNICAL DATA: Pentax *istDS with 18-55mm lens; Handheld; Auto Focus; 1/45; F4; Auto Mode; ISO 200; 18mm; AWB; 12:36pm
